One place for the parts of planning you need
Your time. Your plans. Your choice.
Whenary brings personal and shared calendars, tasks and lists, group planning, guest invitations, and event documentation together. Use the parts you need, with control over sharing and optional end-to-end encryption.
Start with a personal calendar. Add people, shared lists, guest invitations, or integrations when they are useful to you. There is no requirement to use everything.
Personal and shared calendars
Plan your own time or coordinate a household, friend group, club, or team.
Move between day, three-day, week, month, year, and agenda views. Create recurring events and reminders, organize calendars into spaces, and choose what each person can see. You can use Whenary on your own without adding friends or joining a group.
Sharing a calendar and publishing an event are separate choices. Events appear in Discover only when explicitly published there.
Planning for householdsTasks, checklists, and shared lists
Keep the preparation alongside the plan, from a shopping list to an event checklist.
Use event checklists for things to do before a gathering. Space lists support shared items, notes, quantities, assignments, and completion. Create reminders for time-sensitive things you need to remember.
Shared lists live in spaces, while event checklists stay with their event. Choose the place that fits who needs to see and update the work.
Organizing a clubFind a time and make a plan
Compare availability, propose a meetup, and make decisions with the people involved.
Friend sharing includes visibility choices, so coordinating does not have to mean revealing every event. Availability heatmaps and polls help a group find a time. Spaces bring shared calendars, discussions, and lists into the same place.
Availability depends on the calendars and information people choose to share. A busy/free view does not reveal the underlying event details.
Planning with friendsInvitations and guest RSVPs
Invite people who do not have a Whenary account and collect their responses.
Guest links let invitees respond without registering. Use event polls, discussion, and checklists to keep decisions close to the event. Organizers can choose to publish suitable events in the opt-in Discover directory.
Anyone with a valid bearer link may be able to use it until it expires or is revoked. Host Pro adds organizer features and higher limits; check the current plans before choosing a workflow.
Hosting eventsKeep the details with the event
A calendar entry can hold the conversation, files, and practical details of a plan.
Use event descriptions, locations, conference links, photos, attachments, chat, polls, and checklists instead of scattering the details across separate tools. Spaces provide a shared home for ongoing coordination.
Storage and retention limits depend on the plan. Encryption boundaries differ between calendar content and space media; putting a file in your own storage does not itself make it end-to-end encrypted.
Storage and plan limitsCalendar sync, import, and export
Bring calendars with you and connect Whenary to other calendar tools.
Import and export iCalendar (.ics) files, subscribe to calendar feeds, and use CalDAV with per-device credentials. Google and Microsoft calendar connections are configured on the hosted service. OIDC sign-in, SMS, BTCPay, FCM, APNs, and UnifiedPush are off.
Server-based synchronization and feeds require readable event content and are unavailable for end-to-end encrypted calendars. Compatibility depends on the client and the workflow; an import is not a continuing two-way connection.
Choose the right encryption boundaryUC Irvine course and schedule planning
Find courses and bring your class schedule into your calendar.
Search UC Irvine course sections, compare staged schedule choices, and apply selected classes to your calendar. Course information includes section details and links to WebSOC, with enrollment notification options.
These tools are specific to UC Irvine. Course and enrollment information depends on upstream university services; planning a schedule in Whenary does not enroll you in a class.
Keep classes alongside your other plansPrivacy and personal control
Choose what to share and which calendars need end-to-end encrypted content.
Password authentication uses OPAQUE so the application server receives protocol messages instead of your plaintext password. Passkeys and authenticator-app two-factor authentication are supported. Optional end-to-end encryption protects supported content on your device before upload.
Event timing, recurrence, membership, and other operational metadata remain server-readable. Ordinary calendars are processed by the server. Recovery needs preparation, and rotating a key does not recall copies someone already obtained. Device security and the software you run remain part of the threat model.
Read the security boundariesWeb, Android, and offline calendars
Use the web app or the Android app, with offline access to calendar data saved on your device.
The browser app works on desktop and mobile, including iPhone and iPad. Android has a downloadable app. Save calendar dates on your device for offline access. Supported calendar edits can queue while you are offline and synchronize when you reconnect.
Offline access is not a complete local copy of your account. Uncached dates, invitations, external integrations, and other network-dependent actions need a connection. There is no published iOS app. Opening whenary.com does not launch one.

Can I use Whenary just as a personal calendar?
Yes. Friends, spaces, invitations, lists, and public discovery are optional. Start with your own calendars and add other parts when they help you.
Is Whenary free?
Core calendar and collaboration features are free. Optional Personal Supporter and Host Pro plans add capacity and features. The Supporter page lists the current differences and limits.
Are all calendars end-to-end encrypted?
No. End-to-end encryption is an explicit choice per calendar. Ordinary calendars support server-side processing and integrations. Encrypted calendars protect supported content but still expose operational metadata such as event timing, and stay out of integrations that need readable event content.
Create an account or choose your app. Read the help guide for guest links, encrypted calendars, offline edits, and limits. See current plans and limits for paid options.
